Born in Ventura, California and at the moment based mostly in each Miami Seaside, Florida and New York Metropolis, artist José Delgado Zúñiga obtained his BFA from Otis Faculty of Artwork and Design in 2015 and his MFA in Portray from Columbia College in 2017. His work conveys “a rhythm of the muralist sensibility” in its fusion of color and type, image and abstraction. Whereas he could also be seen as exploring themes involving Chicano id, his work finally lies someplace past the confines of a single thought or subject material:
“I imagine that nothing exists independently or in a vacuum; every part on this current second outcomes from earlier and previous relationships and phenomena. The notions inside my work categorical the inner and exterior trauma and politics that happen inward and all over the place. The symbols inform my Mexican American id. Utilizing the method of free affiliation in each content material and type as a technique to recall moments and recollections. Utilizing languages of abstraction and representational portray as textures to specific distortions of notion positioned by oppression. In consequence, my compositions are reaching for enlightenment that may make sense of the mutating skeleton of boundaries; they’re at all times splitting, accumulative, fractured, related, twisting, and stacked.”
