A Visible Love Letter

Photographed on the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, this creative and historically-inspired styled shoot created by wedding ceremony photographer Sarah Bradshaw is an homage to American tycoon George Vanderbilt and his spouse, Edith. It was Christmas Eve, 1895, when Vanderbilt first welcomed family and friends to his “model new” American fort. Over 100 years later, his huge historic property can now be rented for personal weddings and occasions.

“This editorial is a love letter to The Biltmore Home & Property, the person who constructed it, and the ladies he beloved,” shares photographer Sarah Bradshaw, who selected particular parts of their tales and crafted a visible narrative to resonate with a contemporary viewers. “Drawing on my love of historical past, structure, style, & design, I requested, “What would they put on? How would they commemorate their love? The place would they need portraits taken?”
