Friday was not a very good evening to be affiliated with the Miami Warmth.
The group obtained crushed handily for the second straight game at home by the Nuggets to fall behind 3-1 within the NBA Finals because the collection shifts again to Denver for Recreation 5. Throughout that loss, the group’s mascot Burnie determined it’d be enjoyable to do a bit at midcourt with Conor McGregor, who was sitting courtside for the sport.
Burnie got here out with massive boxing gloves to “combat” McGregor, with the previous UFC champ scoring a one punch knockout (after which yet one more on the bottom for good measure).
That punch was apparently a bit greater than Burnie had bargained for, as the Athletic reported on Saturday that the person within the costume needed to go to the hospital to get checked out and get some ache treatment earlier than being discharged — with Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald confirming.
Can affirm, as @sam_amick reported, that the person within the Warmth’s Burnie mascot needed to go to ER after being injured by former UFC champ Conor McGregor in an on-court bit. He noticed a physician and is now house. Splendid.

The story notes he’s doing nicely now, which is nice, and I really feel just like the lesson right here is to by no means ask knowledgeable fighter to punch you for a bit, even when you’re in a big, cushioned outfit. Fighters are likely to not be the most effective at pulling punches, and the outcome is perhaps some harm added to insult.
