“Set in a dreamy, fluffy world, the wizard Skyrider is dealing with the ramifications of a large technological glitch that pressured civilization up into the clouds,” says a synopsis of artist Andrea Love’s new online game, Feltopia. Your mission? Fly on a trusty steed named Cumulus “by means of a world of wizards, robots, and magical creatures—clearing the best way in the direction of the rainbow realm, the place a mysterious mega-bot is threatening to eat the entire spectrum.”
Recognized for her meticulously detailed stop-motion animations utilizing wool, Love (previously) embarks on an bold collaborative mission to rework her felted tales into an interactive sport. Simply launched on Kickstarter, the mission goals to roll out initially on iOS and increase to extra platforms as funding permits. Love joins seasoned sport designer Andy Katsikapes, who invited sound and music designers Peter Michael Davison and Richard Gould to construct a world frame-by-frame, combining playable parts with hand-felted compositions and stop-motion methods.
