Monumental blooms crafted from hundreds of sheets of creased, textured, and twisted paper explode in Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen’s vibrant installations. The Copenhagen-based artist (previously) attracts inspiration from actual blossoms like peonies or dahlias, including fantastical, patterned elaborations to the pistils and stamens. The artist emphasizes larger-than-life sculptures, usually creating painstakingly detailed shows that radiate from flooring to ceiling.
For those who’re in Copenhagen this winter, you’ll be able to see Scott-Hansen’s Christmas set up at Illum division retailer. She is at present working with The Spaceless Gallery to make a few of her items out there for buy and is collaborating with HAGD Contemporary to take the botanical theme a step additional in a series of masks. You may discover extra work on Instagram.
